The conference has as a general objective to develop understanding of the necessary underpinning, thinking and ideas for both Islamic and Western humanitarian actors that help to sustain effective humanitarian action. This will help to build stronger working relationships and collaboration, and improve humanitarian coordination and the effectiveness of aid delivery.
