Sex and age matter - humanitarian response in emergencies

A new study argues that humanitarian actors must collect information based on sex and age, in order to be able to help as many people in need as possible, in the most efficient way.

The authors, Dyan Mazurana, Prisca Benelli, Huma Gupta and Peter Walke, believe that detailed data collection leads to "more lives saved, more livelihoods preserved, and basic human rights reinforced in situations where rights are often brushed aside".
