Brussels, 16 January 2012

The Centre for European Studies (CES) is excited to announce the launch of its latest initiative, an interactive, online public opinion survey titled ‘Springeneration'.

The survey, located at www.springeneration.eu, aims to build on the energy of the recent ‘Arab Spring' movement by asking people in the Middle East and North Africa to share their ideas about how to create better partnerships between their countries and Europe.

In just past several days, the site has logged more than 15,000 participants who have posted hundreds of ideas for how people in Europe and in the Arab world can work together to address common issues.

‘Springeneration.eu is already becoming a great success' said CES Director Tomi Huhtanen, praising the progress of the project. ‘This will be a powerful message for both European and Arab leaders about the importance and possibilities of stronger Euro-Arab cooperation'.

The survey will remain open during the coming weeks and will be capped later this spring with a major event in Brussels, where ten randomly selected participants will be invited to meet with European officials and present the results of the survey.
