“I am proud to say that although our organisation was established in Feb 2011, we have 300 female members. Our main work is focused on relief for widowers and divorcees i.e. providing financial assistance, medical care etc. However, recently we have concentrated our efforts in helping assist individuals who have fled to Derna, through providing aid and helping to accommodate them.

I attended the previous workshop in April 2011, and as a result, we learnt how to organise groups consisting of young volunteers, and allocate a responsibility to each group. This has enabled us to diversify and use the time and skills of younger people to help push us forward.

One other area which we have diversified into includes a ‘clean up’; we have divided our members into groups hoping to clean up “Waadi Derna”. We have truly benefitted from applying the tools such as problem tree and coordinating efforts between groups. I hope there are more workshops to continue this learning curve.”
