Libya

In first instance, due to the local unrest, migrant workers were fleeing to Libya's neighbouring countries and humanitarian space was needed more than ever. We held a conference in Cairo together with the League of Arab States to gather humanitarian actors working in the region and enable information sharing and coordination. This followed on from a phone conference with 22 humanitarian organisations. Continue reading about our work in Libya and the Libyan crisis.


Somalia  

In July 2011, the UN declared famine in the countries of East Africa. Due to the unprecedented levels of drought and famine, the Al Shabab militia has granted humanitarian access to Somalia, after over 2 years. Find out more about how are members and partners are responding here.  

 

 

 

 

Yemen

Yemeni boys in an IDP camp in HaradYemen is one of our partner countries. It is currently suffering from widespread poverty and a growing number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) on account of conflict in the country. We are working closely with the local members of Humanitarian Forum Yemen (HFY) to ensure they have the best training, hands-on experience, and a valued voice in tackling Yemen's complex problems.
