Islamic Relief Worldwide

Mission/Vision:

Our vision

A caring world where the basic requirements of people in need are fulfilled.

Our mission

Inspired by Islamic humanitarian values, Islamic Relief Worldwide aims to help meet the needs of vulnerable people and empower them to become self-reliant so that they can live with dignity and confidence. We help individuals, groups and institutions to develop safe and caring communities and make it possible for those who wish to support others to reach people in need of their help.

What they do:

Islamic Relief's view is that relief, as important as it is, is only the beginning. Giving people the confidence to participate in their own development and to secure their own future without the need for continuing external assistance is the ultimate object. Therefore, Islamic Relief finds it essential to complement relief and development work such as:

  • Emergency Relief
  • Water & Sanitation
  • Health & Nutrition
  • Education & Training
  • Islamic Microfinance
  • Orphan Sponsorship
  • Ramadan Programmes
  • Qurbani Programmes
  • Zakat Programmes

Where they work:

Afghanistan, Albania, Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Chad, Chechnya, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, Haiti, India,  Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Kosovo, Lebanon, Malawi, Mali, Niger, Pakistan, Palestine, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Yemen.
