"I have been a volunteer since the age of 12
, getting involved in various activities such as; food distribution, first aid,
fundraising, environmental awareness. One of the main reasons I participated in
the workshops is because I want to teach others to be good citizens and
encourage voluntary work within the community. I want to have the leadership
skills to be able to initiate this change. I feel that I have benefitted from
others attending the workshop I was able to network and interact with a calibre
of individuals from different organisations, background age and experience.
This in itself is a vital resource; a
platform was given to us to share our opinions and it was interesting to see
the opinions of others."
