Our mission

At the Humanitarian Forum we have a vision. A vision of a world in which there is trust between communities and the potential of aid is maximised.
And so our mission is to improve the lives of those in need and relations between communities, through bridge building and quality humanitarian action, both internationally and locally in a global network of peers.
We want to promote hope in humanity, by creating a conducive, unbiased and safe environment for the implementation of technically sound and principled humanitarian action. Our purpose is to provide a platform for dialogue, to promote mutual understanding, to support capacity building and development of humanitarian and development organisations, and to advocate for a legal framework for greater transparency and accountability.
Mechanism
The Humanitarian Forum's mission and goals are advised by an assembly of stakeholder groups and decided by a representative Steering Committee. Our goal is being achieved through focussing on five areas:
Each of these focuses has a dedicated working group drawn from our international partners. We believe that there areas of organisational structure can promote long-term effectiveness and enable organisations to fully participate in the humanitarian and development community and achieve the greatest results for their beneficiaries.
