 2. IHH

Activities:

IHH has been running different activities across Somalia in cooperation with local
organizations. The activities mainly focus on relief packets distribution, education, school
construction, water wells, orphans sponsorship and cataract surgeries.

  • Regular Ramadan and Eid-ul-Adha programs since 2005
  • Regular food and relief packet distributions in drought affected regions
  • In 2008, through eye camps 8.000 people received free cataract surgery and eye treatment.
  • IHH established "Education Institute" for widows
  • Establishment of "Vocational Training Center"
  • IHH as well takes care of orphans in Somalia under ‘Orphan Sponsorship Program'.
  • Provision of school stationery items to students
  • IHH provides university students with scholarship studying at Mogadishu University.
  • Since 2005, 14 mosques have been built across Somalia and 2 are under construction.
  • 340 water well have been completed and 46 are under process.
  • In 2010, Islamic Education Center with a mosque and a school has been established.

In order to help Somalia people, IHH sent its emergency aid teams to Kenya and Somalia that started relief activities in both the countries. As a start, the team has delivered food items to drought-stricken people living in three different regions. Items included 10 tons of rice, 6,5 tons of sugar, 2,880 kilograms of vegetable oil for 1007 families.

Project Proposal:

Provision of Relief Packets:

IHH teams plans to provide relief packets with basic food items during July-August and September in Somalia. The detail of a relief packet is as following:

A relief packet costs: 120 USD
Since the beginning of the crisis, IHH teams try to provide help to the brothers and sisters in Somalia. We invite you to join hands with us amidst the serious humanitarian crisis; together we can help Somalia brothers and sisters to recover, as they are waiting for our prompt attention and help!
