UN seeking applications from young professionals: An opportunity to develop professional career as an international civil servant
The United Nations is currently seeking applications from highly qualified candidates, under the age of 32, that are interested in and are capable of making a professional career as an international civil servant. Recruitment to the UN is done through the young professionals programme (YPP), a system that brings new talent to the United Nations through an annual entrance examination. This examination serves as a launching pad for young, high-calibre professionals across the globe to make a career at the United Nations. This programme builds upon the national competitive recruitment examination (NCRE) that is held on a yearly basis in countries that are selected on the basis of their representation in the Secretariat.

Proposal Writing Tools for NGOs
How to write a proposal, how to write a concept note, how to develop a logical framework analysis in grant proposals..
A proposal is an essential marketing document that helps cultivate an initial professional relationship between an organization and a donor over a project to be implemented. The proposal outlines the plan of the implementing organization about the project, giving extensive information about the intention, for implementing it, the ways to manage it and the results to be delivered from it.

Implementing Cash-based Interventions
The response to humanitarian crisis or emergency situations has, in most cases, taken the form of commodity (food, shelter, seeds and tools and a variety of other necessary goods, classed collectively by humanitarian agencies as ‘non-food items’) distributions to affected populations. However, a growing body of experience and literature shows an interest in alternatives to inkind distributions, where people are given cash or vouchers instead, which they use to acquire the items they need. In this manual, these are broadly called “cash-based interventions2”.
